Welcome to the website of the National Research Center for the Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases(CCPID), Nagasaki University<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

As the pandemic of COVID-19 has shown, the threat of infectious diseases is increasing all over the world due to climate change, environmental destruction, and the development of transportation networks and globalization in recent years, and countermeasures are required. In particular, it is necessary to have an experimental facility (BSL-4 facility) with advanced safety functions in order to safely handle pathogens that cause serious infectious diseases, such as hemorrhagic fevers, and to develop effective prevention and treatment methods.<\/p>\n

The research base for infectious diseases of Nagasaki University, established in 2017 with the aim of conducting research on infectious diseases with high mortality rates, has made a fresh start as a University Research Institute, the \u201cNational Research Center for the Control and Prevention of Infectious Diseases(CCPID)\u201d, from April 2022. It has also been certified as a Joint Usage \/ Research Center for related researchers nationwide. At this center, we will safely develop and operate the BSL-4 facility, and promote infectious disease research and human resource development in collaboration with researchers nationwide.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
